COURSE FACILITATORS

The Institute for Continuing Professional Development in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (I-QIPS) is comprised of leaders from across the educational and clinical enterprise, bringing with them a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds in QI and patient safety. This expertise is carried over into interactive training courses developed and offered by I-QIPS, strategically designed to enrich the hands-on learning experience that is provided to course participants. Training courses are conducted by a team of facilitators, comprised of Master Teachers, Faculty, and Instructors, as designated by I-QIPS.

Master Teachers

I-QIPS Master Teachers serve as subject matter experts, direct course content, mentor QI leaders, and lead the development of instructors within the I-QIPS.

Faculty

I-QIPS Faculty serve as subject matter experts, lead individual course sessions offered by the I-QIPS, and provide coaching as needed on QI projects.

Instructors

I-QIPS Instructors serve as subject matter experts, co-lead course sessions offered by the I-QIPS, and provide coaching on QI projects.

QI COACHES

I-QIPS QI Coaches are engaged in one or both of the following ways (based on their interests, levels of experience, and per I-QIPS assignment):

1. Provide assistance during workshop sessions for training courses offered by the I-QIPS by leading breakout activities during the sessions, such as providing small-group coaching on improvement projects being conducted by the enrolled course participants.

2. May be assigned to one or two course participants for the term of the training course to provide customized coaching between workshop sessions to assist them with their improvement projects and pre-work assignments, in preparation for the next scheduled session.

As part of its initiative to train faculty, support innovation, and promote scholarship in quality improvement and patient safety, the I-QIPS seeks qualified candidates to serve as QI Coaches for faculty or trainees involved in improvement-related activities conducted across BCM-affiliated institutions. The team of QI Coaches is selected via a formal application process. For more information, visit the QI Coaches page.
