Applications for the Fall 2021 (Group: CAQHI-1) offering of the Certificate for Added Qualification in Healthcare Improvement Program are closed. All applicants have been notified regarding application decisions.

Applicant Acknowledgement: By submitting an application for the Fall 2021 CAQHI Program (Group: CAQHI-1), the applicant acknowledges that they are applying simultaneously for BOTH of the below courses, which are requirements of the certificate program and associated specifically with this respective CAQHI Program offering (Group: CAQHI-1):

An accepted CAQHI Program application provides the applicant with automatic enrolled in both courses (they will not need to apply separately for each course). HOWEVER, prior to the start of EACH course, all accepted CAQHI Program applicants are required to confirm their continued intention for enrollment in the respective courses by their prompt attention and reply to I-QIPS communications sent to them in this regard.

Note: Each of the above courses is available without enrollment in the CAQHI Program. An applicant, who is interested in taking only one of the courses or would like to take both courses without participating in the CAQHI Program, should apply separately for each respective course of interest. To do so, visit the Education page, where Calls for Applications (by course) are announced when available.

STEP 1

Course 1: QI Jump Start - Fall 2021 (1586-6)

The QI Jump Start course is the first of two required courses for the CAQHI Program. This intermediate-level course builds upon foundational skills, as well as those concepts acquired from each course session.

The topics covered in the course include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • systems/design thinking and redesign
  • models for healthcare improvement
  • basic measures and tools for conducting quality improvement (QI)
  • adult learning theory and mentoring
  • QI scholarship

STEP 2

Course 2: Leading Healthcare Improvement (LHI) - Spring 2022 (1601-4)

The Leading Healthcare Improvement (LHI) course is the second of two required courses for the CAQHI Program. This advanced-level course is designed to develop leaders of interprofessional improvement teams within their clinical settings.

The topics covered in the course include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • transformational goals
  • effective leadership
  • identifying internal and external stakeholders essential to change projects
  • cultural barriers and facilitators of organizational change

STEP 3

Capstone: Healthcare Improvement Project

As the final required step of the CAQHI Program, each enrolled learner is responsible for completing and submitting one (1) healthcare improvement capstone project.

Follow the Capstone Submission Instructions to prepare your submission and ensure alignment with all stated requirements and criteria.

To submit your capstone project, complete and submit the online Capstone Submission Form (referenced in the instructions) by the noted deadline.

A direct link (URL) to the submission form is provided to enrolled CAQHI Program learners at the conclusion of Course 2: Leading Healthcare Improvement.
