Our Team: Student Ambassadors

Overview

The Institute for Continuing Professional Development in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (I-QIPS) provides a home and focus for College-wide quality improvement and patient safety (QI/PS) educational and training initiatives, resources, and recognition for BCM faculty and staff interested in expanding their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the science, application, and teaching of QI/PS to benefit BCM and its affiliated learners across the educational continuum.

As part of its initiative to train faculty, support innovation, and promote scholarship in QI/PS, the I-QIPS seeks qualified BCM first-year medical students (MS1) to serve as I-QIPS Student Ambassadors. Selected students serve in this volunteer role for a 14-month term.

Student Ambassadors will support the development and expansion of quality improvement education across BCM clinical pavilions. The role will also receive direct mentorship from BCM faculty leaders in the areas of QI, leadership training, and QI education, as well as those with experience across various QI initiatives. Further, student ambassadors will work closely with I-QIPS faculty during monthly and ad-hoc meetings.
