The LHI course includes a series of required workshop sessions and a poster presentation; the scheduled dates are listed below. Additionally, the course is eligible for CME credit. More information is available on the course overview page.
This is an advanced-level training course that will be offered through the Institute one to two times per academic year, depending on demand.

2019 Annual VA Quality Scholars (VAQS) Summer Institute Conference (August 13 - 14, 2019)
The annual VAQS Summer Institute Conference is hosted by faculty and staff of the VAQS Coordinating Center (directed by Aanand Naik, MD and Kyler Godwin, PhD), located at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, as well as affiliated with the Houston Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety (IQuESt). Each year, the Conference serves to provide VA Quality Scholars and other attendees an opportunity to meet face-to-face, collaborate and network with faculty and fellows from across the nation, as well as provide fellows an opportunity to further their knowledge in leading, measuring, and implementing change for the improved health of Veterans and the nation. Each LHI course participant is asked to present a Poster, featuring their improvement project, at the Conference Poster Session, which also will include quality improvement and research presentations prepared by VA Quality Scholars.
NOTE: Poster abstract submission instructions/deadline, poster preparation guidelines, and Poster Session details/instructions have been provided directly to the course participants.

LHI course participants are also invited to attend the conference. There is no fee to attend; however, onsite registration is required. Please sign-in at the VAQS Registration Table, located in the foyer directly outside Onstead Auditorium (BSRB S3.8012). Registration is open on August 13 and 14 from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
