The Institute for Continuing Professional Development in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (I-QIPS) is accepting applications from qualified BCM faculty for the following position: Assistant Director of Programs (10% - 20% FTE).

With a vision for developing the quality improvement community across the College and affiliated institutions, this position serves on the I-QIPS Executive Committee and is primarily responsible for conceptualizing/developing, implementing, and leading I-QIPS programs focused on scholarship, faculty development, and recognition in the areas of quality improvement and patient safety (QI/PS), as well as in assisting with Maintenance of Certification Part 4 – Improvements in Medical Practice (MOC Part 4) duties, as assigned.

This position will be funded through and located within the I-QIPS, which is a division of the Center for Collaborative and Interactive Technologies at Baylor College of Medicine.

Interested faculty should submit an online Application Form to include each of the following items, which should be uploaded directly to the form where prompted:

  • Statement of Interest and Description of Qualifications
  • Current CV (should include full name and email address)
  • Letter of Support from Department Chair

    Tip: The letter of support (LOS) serves to confirm that the applicant, should their application be selected, has the full support of their leadership with having the time needed to fulfill the stated responsibilities and duties of the position. As such, the LOS should be from the individual who ultimately is responsible for the applicant's time.


The following information should be clearly described in the submitted documents:

  • Your vision for developing the QI community across the College and affiliated institutions.
  • Documentation of active engagement in recent I-QIPS activities/initiatives for at least one (1) year.
  • Documentation of experience in a QI/PS leadership/educator role in some capacity outside the I-QIPS.

  • Current Photo (headshot)
  • Link (URL) to your BCM Bio page
